GILDAN / INDEPENDENT CLIENT · PARTNERSHIP STRATEGY · 2024

What makes a partnership worth extending?

Riley Green for Gildan · Existing campaign imagery

Gildan was considering an extended partnership with country artist Riley Green. I assessed the fit between his public persona, his audience and the brands in Gildan’s portfolio, then developed recommendations for how the relationship could grow.

The question behind the reach

An artist’s popularity creates an opening. The harder question is what gives a particular brand a credible place in that relationship.

I reviewed Green’s content, audience conversations, media coverage and existing sponsorships. The assessment explored what fans valued, how they engaged across platforms, and where a brand partnership could feel natural in the context of his everyday life.

A more specific fit

My recommendation connected distinct audience groups to individual Gildan brands. Comfort Colors offered a fit with the relaxed familiarity of Green’s country lifestyle. GOLDTOE’s durability connected with outdoor interests. American Apparel offered a different opportunity among younger, style-conscious listeners.

That distinction shaped the proposed content and experiences. Ideas included family storytelling around Comfort Colors, outdoor product demonstrations, music-related merchandise and community participation. Each recommendation started with a reason for fans to care.

What I delivered

An audience and partnership assessment, brand-by-brand fit analysis, platform guidance and activation recommendations. The work gave Gildan a structured view of where an extended partnership could be most relevant.

My role: Independent strategy consultant. Audience and cultural analysis, partnership evaluation, portfolio alignment and strategic recommendations.

Scope: Strategic assessment and proposed activations, 2024.
